Hey from Arkansas!
« on: August 19, 2019, 05:08:28 PM »
Thanks first off to the people who had the idea to start this awesome forum! My background is in market gardening and mushroom cultivation.  I am somewhat new to figs, but I've learned a lot lately. I hope to be able to share some of my stupidly expensive trees I bought before becoming aware of this site, as well as benefit from the many people with similar experiences.   Thanks!
I truly love this hobby!

Hello and welcome to southernfigsforum. First off I think everyone is made that grave Mistake by having what they call the now syndrome but in reality you're not getting it now you got to wait a couple years for the fruiting.

We too enjoy growing mushrooms so we have some things in common you got questions just ask we are more than happy to help anybody.

Welcome aboard! I think most of us has paid too much for a fig tree or more. In the end it's only money, and soon you'll have figs for years to come!!
I'm interested in trying some of these popular varieties to see how they do and compare in my area, Smith, Black Madiera, Madiera Island black, Qalaat al Madiq, Ben's Golden Riverside, Robert's Golden Rainbow, black Zadar, or any other awesome fig tree!
