I'll probably eat a couple a day, and dry or freeze the rest.  The neighbors will be happy too!

I harvested these a little early because Dorian knocked the plants over.  This is an open invitation to every vermin in the neighborhood.

GJRoberts,

Congrats on your banana haul.  Mine started to ripen also.  I love the Pisang Celon, the middle bunch.  That is a huge bunch.  I want to grow bunches like that so I can give to everyone and still have some for my family.   Thanks for sharing

The Pisang Ceylon is great tasting too.  The tree is about 20 feet tall and produces very well, with lots of pups.

None of mine have ever produced. Many are 4-6 years old and have produced several pups but no fruit. Wondering if it is a lack of fertilizing that is causing this.

Yes fertilizers number one you need to set up a fertilized schedule on a monthly basis banana trees are very heavy feeders. I wouldn't think watering would be a problem in your area. And one of the last things that can rob you of fruit is B banana mat if you have too many plants crowded in growing together they rob the nutrients from each other and decrease your size or even being able to produce fruit
