Robert's Golden Rainbow
« on: November 16, 2019, 08:39:39 PM »
Hello, ?I’m a newbie.  I live in hot and humid Tallahassee FL zone 8b.  I’ve heard soooo much about the Robert's Golden Rainbow or Ben’s Golden Riverside fig.  Some say both are the same fig others say they’re different.  Incredible over the top prices being asked for either.  Will either of these survive in my area?

First of all they are the same exact fig and we have given several those away here on the forum.

And they should do very exceptional in your growing area. Please fill in your valid shipping information so you can get in on some of the free giveaways thanks JD

JD I dont recall who posted on another forum that RGR and YLN where the same. And that Ben's golden riverside was diffrent. Do you know why that idea is out there too?

This is what happens when people want to make an opinion or something is similar or I believe they're the same.

We grow all three of them and the yellow long neck doesn't grow anything like the golden Riverside or Roberts golden rainbow.

It is a fact that Ben's Goldin Riverside and Robert's golden rainbow are the same variety of fig. Refer to the link https://southernfigsforum.com/index.php/topic,438.msg1239.html#msg1239

Ah I see. Sounds like I need to grow me some and do a little field testing myself.  ;)

Sounds like a good idea that way you can do a side-by-side comparison. Also take special attention to the leaves those are the Fingerprints of these trees
