I would contact WillisC in FL and see what he says. No wasps there and his nursery carries this variety from what Google says. It couldn't hurt.
Rudy Google is great for a lot of information but Google has its limitations also. Their information comes from third-party sources again from third-party sources.
Rudy Southern figs forum is a third party source Google along with MSN and other spiders bot and read our pages or postings everyday and it collects this information and sends it to cloud which is held on there databases so when you search something this is what is retrieved.
So with a lot of information that one researches is dependent on somebody's or someone's opinion. ONE BIG EXAMPLE you have searched the internet on rooting information of cuttings.
So how many different ways did you research come up with I bet it was a bunch. These are different sources with different opinions or this is what works best for me none of these are written in stone the facts are you will have failures.
The facts are 90% of the u.s. does not have the Fig wasp. So if you have a variety of fig that needs to be pollinated it will not do you any good to have this variety outside of those areas because you will not get an edible fig off the tree.
Rudy we don't have the fig wasp here in Louisiana and we've grown this variety for several years in ground and in growing containers. We even held it in the greenhouse this year with the same results it drop the figs.
Miss figgy you can also p.m. Ross he is a member here and he will confirm these findings also me and him have had several discussions on this variety.
