This is actually a king oyster mushroom about to 4th generation. I was trying to load a bunch of these up here but my other laptops taking way too much time and doesn't want to cooperate and I'm tired so we'll try it again tomorrow

I created this topic because I know there's a few other ones in here on the forum and also grow Gourmet mushrooms. We have a bunch a photos that we can post hopefully others will join in and show some of their Creations off.

The photo is of my pride and joy culture that I created that mushroom weighs 1 lb.

Mushrooms are pretty easy to grow probably the best and most economical system is using straw that's been pasteurized inoculated with your grain spawn and growing them in dollar Store laundry baskets for a buck or plastic bags and punching holes in them.

We had been growing mushrooms for a Time and when we developed this one pound mushroom we cloned it. We had quite a few Different varieties of mushrooms that we have been developing until I went to a family reunions for a week and my lab had caught on fire and burn all my cultures in the refrigerator. Needless to say I lost interest having all my work destroyed there's a lot of good information on the internet just Google how to grow Gourmet mushrooms.

You can also buy cultures on the internet we will be around to answer questions for you so go ahead do some research and give it a try you may surprise yourself what you can grow and at the same time benefit your fig trees.

Very nice mushroom!   I picked up fresh Shattaki, King Trumpet (might be king oyster), and lion's mane at our local specialty market and cloned them on agar I bought off amazon.   Using my wife's instant pot to sterilize the media.  Just using open air transfer in the kitchen with lots of rubbing alcohol and lots of attention paid to sanitation of knifes, and utensils, hands, etc.  So far so good but have I have not produced any mushrooms yet.  Mycelium  is looking good so far.

Another place where I'm a newbee :) - except when it comes to eating them. Sounds like you guys are way beyond me - I read and study, was inspired when a group of us, beekeepers all, had Paul Stamets out to discuss his theories on health, mycelium, and bees. But spawning and growing, no experience, so was thinking it would be good to find advisers here. My first hands on practice arrived today: a kit to grow Lions Mane. So, gotta start somewhere....
