Hi Marsha (Me...2001) ,
I saw in another post that you have had difficulty rooting Longue D'Aout cuttings. I, on the other hand have been quite lucky with this variety and have had more success than with many other varieties. I have a few more Longue D'Aout cuttings to try to root over the next month or so. If I am successful and wind up with a few more than I could use, would you be interested when my young plants have roots which fill a 4 x 4 x 9 mini tree pot?
Here's the trade I would propose:
1) You post any fig cuttings or small plant that you would be willing to give away to another member (not to me).
2) Upon sending your giveaway item(s) to winning member(s), I will send you a Longue D'Aout which is well rooted and ready for a 2 gallon pot. I would only ask for actual shipping up to $10. If the shipping is over $10, I cover the balance.
Let me know if you are interested. We can touch base again at the end of spring when my plants should have developed really nice root systems. If you need to wait until the fall, that is OK too. I can send you a bare root plant after mine go dormant.
This is another way of paying it forward and getting more members involved in our giveaways.
